Oil and gas EFTs (exchange-traded funds) are a type of investment in the discovery of oil and gas, as well as their production, distributing, and selling. In some cases, these types of oil and gas EFTs can be set up as commodity pools, which means there are limited partnership interests instead of shares. Investors who invest in oil and gas EFTs are investing not just in the current state of these commodities, but in futures and options as well.
